BEIJING (AP) — Mercedes-Benz will recall more than 660,000 vehicles in China later this year over possible oil leaks.
A notice published last week on the website of China’s State Market Regulation Administration said the seal between the high-pressure fuel pump and low-pressure fuel line may weaken over time, causing the engine to leak oil when starting in cold weather. .
A recall of 668,954 vehicles will begin on December 18, including various models produced between February 2013 and June 2017, including the C-Class, E-Class, V-Class, GLK-Class, CLS-Class, SLC-Class ,GLC. SUVs and VS20 VITO.
Most of the cars are manufactured in China by Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. Fujian Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. produced about 12,500 units and about 36,000 units were imported.
The news comes after a recall of 4,653 imported Mercedes G-Class sedans with incorrect child safety lock stickers began last month, Xinhua reported.
