BD SEALS Sealing Solutions announced the Turcon Roto Glyd Ring DXL, a new single-acting rotary seal with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) o-ring. This seal is specifically designed to meet the requirements of high pressure rotating applications in the oil and gas industry.
With an innovative design, the Glyd Ring DXL improves dynamic sealing performance and reduces friction by balancing contact forces on the dynamic lip under all conditions of use, resulting in excellent crush resistance and low torque. The seal is made from NORSOK and API approved Trelleborg Sealing Solutions XploR materials.

It is capable of withstanding pressures up to 70 MPa (10,153 psi) or speeds up to 5 m/s (16.4 ft/s). bd seals recommends a maximum PV of up to 48 (MPa x m/s) / 1.4 M (psi x ft/min) for optimum performance. These operating conditions are commonly found in downhole tools, rotary controls, hydraulic motors/pumps and hydraulic rotating unions. Through extensive in-house R&D and customer testing, the Glyd Ring has demonstrated extended life and superior wear resistance in abrasive environments.
